Slow going, this moving thing

It's a slow motion thing to get all of our products moved from Etsy to here. I love Etsy to death, but good grief, after a while, the fees will eat you alive, especially when you plan on having as big a store as we do. Yikes.

It's going to be a good number of products, in the thousands once all is said and done, and while it will take a while to get everything moved over and the mockups reworked here, it will all be worth it in the long run. With a Shopify store, there are a few advantages over Etsy:

1 - More ability to create collections instead of only 20 that end up somewhat jumbled up.a
2 - No being told "This needs review" when it's a cat breed that just happens to have the name of a city in a banned country as part of the name (Havana Brown, for the record).
3 - ONE monthly fee that doesn't change based on how many products you have added or renewed that month. We're letting all of our current Etsy listings just expire naturally for any last sales there, and going forward, it will be Shopify all the way.
4 - More ability to use tags, as we can have many, MANY more tags here (250 instead of 13, if we so choose, but we're not going to go crazy here).

This means a few good things for our customers as well. Slightly lowered prices because we don't have to pay all those pesky Etsy fees now. One monthly fee for the base shop and a credit card transaction fee. Orders getting pushed to the printer faster. Etsy holds our money for a week before letting us have it, and we're small enough right now to have to have that in hand to have the margins available to us to order the products as they come in. More types of products, because with Etsy and all their fees, we had to limit ourselves to just a handful of products and now we can do several more that intrigue us and which we think will sell well.

So lots of good things coming to 3 Kits And A Pibble over the coming months. Keep coming back to visit and see what new things we have added!
