I have a lot of niche interests, basically. My main focus is the dogs and cats, and so there are categories for those separated by breed, in big chunks because Etsy won't allow more than twenty categories. One day, I'll probably switch to Shopify and go with more broken down categories there, but for the momeny, Etsy and this site with their Pattern dodad work fine.

So there are the breeds, a section for mutts and pitbulls because they aren't AKC breeds, misc. dogs and cats for stuff that fits both (since you can only have a product in one category on Etsy), and other related goodies like adopt/foster/rescue, spay/neuter, angel pets, showing/events, Christmas ornaments for those designs that really are truly Christmasy, and an "other animals" category. Also dog bandanas, because I don't know about y'all, but I do love dressing up my pooch mcgooch in bandanas.

That one for other animals is for all the other pets out there - reptiles, birds, fish, rodents, what have you, and includes farm animals, because there are a lot of folks who have farm aninals for pets.

The extra categories are for the other niches that I love and don't want to have to do a whole 'nother Etsy shop for.

Christmas Curios is for non-pet Christmas designs.

The Armchair Traveler is for places to go and airport codes and things like that. If you've been there or want to go, or have even just passed through, this is the category for you to find that perfect ornament.

The Purple Hippie comes from my Mom's favorite color (purple) and that I was born during the middle of the hippie dippie flower child era. It is all the oddball stuff that fits on just about anything, and I choose ornaments. Heck, I know a few people that keep their Christmas tree up year-round and just change the decorations for the holiday. Anybody up for a Valentine's, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Halloween, or Easter tree? This section has you covered.

Finally, there is The Smells Good Lady. This comes from my days when I could haul wax slabs around and made candles and such, and my booth at the local farmer's and artisan's market always attracted a crowd from people coming by to smell everything. One fellow one Saturday morning found me out of my usual spot (I'd gotten there a bit late and it was first come on spots, but most of us had a regular place we set up), and he said, "Oh there you are, hey look everyone, I found the smells good lady!" And it stuck. So that's candles, wax melts, and all kinds of other things, and includes a huge selection of candle fragrance oils.
